Overview

BestNextCard ("the Site") is a credit card recommendation tool. We designed the Site to minimize the data we collect. You do not create an account, and we do not store personally identifiable information ("PII") on our servers.

What We Collect

We collect only anonymous information needed to generate recommendations:

  • Quiz inputs you provide: card history, credit profile details, and goals.
  • Basic device and usage information via analytics (see below).

We do not ask for your name, address, Social Security number, date of birth, or any other identifying information. We do not store your quiz responses on our servers.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use cookies and your browser's local storage for two purposes:

  • Quiz progress: we save your quiz inputs and previously entered cards in your browser so you do not have to re-enter them if you refresh or return later. This data stays on your device.
  • Analytics: with your consent, Google Analytics sets cookies to measure aggregate usage of the Site.

You can clear this data at any time by clearing your browser's cookies and site data.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Site. Analytics only loads after you accept cookies via the consent banner. If you decline, Google Analytics is not loaded and no analytics data is sent.

Google Analytics collects information such as pages viewed, approximate geographic region, device type, and referring source. Google retains this data according to its standard retention settings. For more information, see Google's Privacy Policy.

Affiliate Links

Some links on the Site are affiliate links. If you click an application link and apply for a card, the issuer or an affiliate network may pay us a commission. No user data is shared with card issuers or affiliate networks for this purpose beyond the standard referral information that the affiliate link itself carries (for example, a referral identifier appended to the URL).

Affiliate commissions do not influence our recommendations or rankings.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your data. We do not share your quiz responses with third parties. Analytics data is processed by Google under its own terms.

Data Retention

Quiz session data lives in your browser and is cleared when you clear your browser data or end your session. We do not retain copies server-side. Google Analytics retains aggregated data according to its standard retention settings.

Your Rights

Because we do not store PII, there is generally nothing for us to access or delete on our servers. You can:

  • Clear your quiz data at any time by clearing your browser cookies and local storage.
  • Decline analytics cookies via the consent banner on first visit.
  • Contact us with any privacy question at the address below.

If you are an EU/EEA/UK resident, the GDPR gives you rights including access, erasure, and objection. If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA gives you similar rights, including the right to know and to opt out of sale (we do not sell data). To exercise these rights, contact us.

Jurisdiction

BestNextCard is operated from the United States. By using the Site, you consent to the transfer and processing of information in the United States.

Changes

We may update this policy. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above.
